Professor Hazel Hanh of Seattle University wrote and published a very interesting academic article entitled “Rounded Edges: Modernism and Architectural Dialogue in Ho Chi Minh City”. You can download this paper here . In addition to recognising the diversity of architecture in Ho Chi Minh City, it focuses on the feature of rounded corners on buildings in Ho Chi Minh City and Phnom Penh. This technique of design provides unity amongst the various styles of architecture in these cities and shows how the population recognised and used the value of this technique.
